This was my first read by this author. I do read CF but am very selective because this genre is difficult to write. I admire those who have pledged to do it. The issue is finding a good balance that will draw a variety of readers. The basic idea of this story is intriguing and it is relevant. The story is told by one character,Kira, from a first person POV. I am a character lover. Anytime I fall in love with a book, 80 percent of the time it's because the author developed great characters. Here, I admit I was on the fence. I liked Kira, and believe that Lockley brought her to life. Her issues were real and I understood her. The issue for me, was that she didn't really dig into the main supporting characters. They were a bit one dimensional. I didn't understand why she was so tempted. Quincy wasn't really appealing but there were moments of sparks. Mason was super spiritual and according to description not really a heart throb so to speak. I think that Mason was better developed than Quincy though. Onyigie (sp) was an absolute irritation. She was overboard.
The second half of the book actually saved this story. I was so happy that Quincy was out of the picture because again, I didn't get it. The story went from basic and flat to layered and palpable.
Now, I love some Word. But here is the problem with some CF for me, overkill. I don't need a spiritual analysis and coordinating scripture for every point. There were several Sunday school lessons and several scriptures that characters used in dialogue to help illustrate a point. Yes, absolutely saints do this, but it doesn't always work in fiction. Some people may love that and need it, but for me I need it to flow a bit more naturally and then allow me to meditate on what has touched me. God can do that. He really can. But I'm not dissuading anyone. This author did a good job I think that as time goes on authors get better and change their styles so I will definitely read Lockley again.

When we fail to do what God tell us to do as husbands and wives we open up the door to the enemy; Mason and Kira were so busy trying to deal with their issues separately and not coming together and surrendering all to God that enemy almost killed their marriage. But It's beautiful when we surrender, it's healing and brings restoration. The moment Kira confessed to Pastor Stone and Mason, I wanted to cry; she was destroying the trap of the enemy with her confession. Where are the Pastor Stones ? I loved her and her wisdom, she showed genuine love for Mason and Kira. It was a love that wanted to see them healed and whole, walking in the promises God had for them as a married couple. Everyone needs a Pastor Stone in their lives. Tempted to Touch was powerful, amazing and wonderful. Highly recommend it.
Loved it. It was so refreshing to read a book that did not drag out every scene. Every aspect moved along quickly and yet kept you engaged. Nigeria Lockley did an excellent job of describing characters and scenes without going overboard with intricate details like describing every single detail of a room or outfit down to the designer. You got enough of a description to paint the picture but not so much that it too away from the story or just felt like page fillers.
Then there is the aspect of the storyline itself. The messages were clear and readers can easily apply them to their life. The characters and situations were relatable and realistic.

My Thoughts...
Wonderful and well written story that will give you much thought long after the read. The subject matter 'temptation' was right on the mark on what can go wrong so quickly in any marriage whether you are a Christian or not when they try to deal with issues separately there can be problems as it was for Kira and Mason Seagram. For these two people from the read you will see how the enemy almost wrecked their marriage. However, for these two their was a wonderful Pastor Stone who was there with her wisdom which was such a beautiful part of this read that I truly loved. Will Kira and Mason get back to being 'healed, whole and walking in the promises of God?' Now, I will stop here and say you must pick up this wonderful story that was 'powerful, amazing and beautifully' presented to the readers. Well done to the author!
What do you do with your feelings of neglect in your marriage when your husband is on fire for the Lord and you need more from him? Kira and Mason have a great marriage but their relationship with God is on different levels. Which is ok because relationships shouldn’t be the same.
Kira has shifted her focus to her son Nate who suffers with Sickle Cell and also her work as Human Resource Director. She loves to sing but has no desire to sing in the choir at their church where her attendance has dwindled.
As we know all too well things happen when we lose our focus in a marriage and the door to temptation opens and in walks something which is actually dressed to look better than what you currently have. For Kira temptation goes by the name of Quincy McAdams; her ex who from appearance sake has made it in the music industry and he wants Kira to ride along with him.
This could be the boost she needs to get her house out of foreclosure, help with her feelings of neglect and revive her marriage or the polar opposite could be the result. As we know in our own lives sometimes trail and tribulations are just the wakeup call we need to recognize when a relationship has gone off the path. Lockley has penned a very realistic tale of temptation and how sometimes if you don’t have the right person in your corner rooting for you and your marriage temptation could become sin.
Outstanding read!
